BreadTalk reopens at VivoCity with a fresh new look and over 50 store-exclusive bakes, from Truffle Chicken Sliders to Mille-Feuilles

by Letresa Yap

If you’ve been to Singapore’s largest mall recently, you might know that the mall, alongside over 70 food and beverage stalls, underwent a makeover at basement two.

With the completion of the revamp, BreadTalk has reopened its doors to a completely new concept with over 50-outlet exclusive bakes.

The freshly renovated BreadTalk outlet greets visitors with a contemporary, open-concept bakery design, even referencing the “Comedian” artwork by Maurizio Cattelan

For the uninitiated, the artwork points to a US$6.2 million (about S$7.99 million) banana duct-taped onto the wall.

Interestingly, the usual BreadTalk branding has been removed from the storefront at its VivoCity outlet, giving it a more curated and boutique style. It features a “live bakery” experience, where customers can watch the baking of breads and pastries in action.

The outlet can be distinguished by its exclusive menu, such as the Truffle Chicken Slider (S$5.80), Butter Chicken Pocket (S$5.80), Beef Rendang Slider (S$6), and Margherita Napoli (S$4.40).

The flavour I am anticipating most is the Truffle Chicken Slider, a gourmet bite featuring a charcoal bun stuffed with mashed potatoes, shiitake mushrooms, and crispy chicken katsu, and the Banana Layer Tart (S$4.60).

I can imagine just how yummy the combination of a rich, creamy filling, crisp crust, a dollop of whipped cream, accompanied by a caramelised banana, would be. Stop growling, please, my dear stomach.

If you’re more of a cake over bread or tarts kind of person, head to their Indulge Bar to pick up bakes like the Blueberry Mille-Feuille (S$6.70), Peach Please Mille-Feuille (S$6.70), and Blueberry Yogurt Cake (S$7.30).

I need someone to hold me back, don’t let me anywhere near VivoCity.

On a serious note, here’s a toast to an awesome October! Remember, we loaf you, our dearest readers!
