Residents of Tampines may have noticed something different about the popular glasshouse cafe located at The Alps Residences.

Formerly occupied by Around, it is now home to Glasshouse Creamery, an ice cream cafe run by different owners, along with an entirely new menu.

As its name suggests, the cafe’s interior boasts sprawling floor-to-ceiling windows, minimalist furnishings, and botanical accents, so you’ll definitely be treated to plenty of natural lighting if you visit in the day.

Prices for a Single and Double Scoop of ice cream are at S$4.90 and S$8.90 respectively, with an additional S$1 required for premium flavours.

Flavours-wise, you can look forward to classics like Pistachio, Mint Choco Chip, Honey Lavender, and Dark Chocolate. However, Glasshouse Creamery specialises in tea-based flavours, so we reckon you won’t go wrong with the Sencha, Green Tea, Osmanthus Oolong, or Blue Pea Lemongrass!

The Signature Waffles (S$7.90) served here are all mochi-based, so you can expect them to be chewy with a crispy exterior. Enjoy ’em topped with oreo crumble, icing sugar, or biscoff crumble, along a generous drizzle of maple syrup and/or chocolate sauce.

If you’re dining as a pair, the Duo Set (from S$15.90), which comes with two scoops of ice cream on a mochi waffle, should more than suffice.

Pair your dessert of choice with one of the unique handpicked specialty teas (from S$6.90). The Alchemy of Plants (S$7.90), for instance, is an intriguing blend of raspberry, mint, nettle leaf, dandelion, oat straw, ginger, rose, chamomile, and horsetail that’s chock full of antioxidants.

But if that’s not your cup of tea, go for an espresso-based coffee (from S$4) or a fizzy drink (S$7), such as the Floral Hibiscus, Watermelon Wonders, or Tropical Sunrise.

Craving something savoury on the side? Feel free to order finger food like Chicken Karaage (S$9.90) and Yakitori Sticks (S$9.90) with your choice of sauces — think Truffle, Mentaiko, and Furikake Mayo!

Given that dessert cafes are most popular as an after-dinner treat, it’s no surprise that they open till 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Will you be swinging by Glasshouse Creamery for your late-night ice cream fix?
