Kimchi Mama debuts at Bugis+ with comfort Korean food from S$5.90, stew-pots, hotstone rice, and more

New Korean eatery Kimchi Mama has made its debut at Bugis+, with 50+ home-style dishes, priced from S$5.90.

Their Signature Kimchi Mama Stew Pot (S$25.90) is something you must get. This bubbling pot of rich, tangy kimchi stew is slow-cooked for that authentic, deep, and Seoul-warming flavour.

The brand is also well-loved for their Hotstone Rice Bowls, with the eggy Hotstone Kimchi Beef Steak Rice (S$14.90) winning the hearts of the crowd.

Another pick is their Hotstone Cheesy Spicy Chicken Rice (S$12.90), served with seaweed soup. This bowl of goodness features tender, spicy chicken, and gooey melted cheese over hot-stone rice.

We’ve all heard of interactive exhibitions, but this is one interaction-filled bowl, because you can enjoy this dish four ways — as it is, or wrapped in a seaweed sheet for an additional S$1.80, top up an additional S$6.90 for oozy corn cheese, and an additional S$8.90 for Korean fried chicken.

This new Korean diner also serves up outstanding Spicy Kimchi & Clams Soondubu (S$11.90). It is a silky tofu simmered in a bold, spicy kimchi broth, enriched with the natural sweetness of fresh clams.

What’s even better is that the stew is cooked in a Ttukbaegi, a Korean earthenware traditional Korean stone bowl. The pot keeps food bubbling and hot at the table.

There’s just something about this vibe — eating a bowl of hot stew, all while it rains, that a hopeless romantic would pine for.

If you’re familiar with the hit Netflix drama, Squid Game, you’d probably have come across their simple yet mouth-watering metal lunch boxes, also known as, Dosirak.

While Kimchi Mama doesn’t serve the exact Dosirak, it has the nostalgic and entertaining Mama ‘Shake Shake’ Rice Balls (S$5.90). Diners can shake to mix the ingredients before rolling their own rice balls by hand.

I can foresee myself shaking the metal lunchbox and squishing the rice together as a way to relieve work stress before devouring my meal.

To celebrate their launch, Kimchi Mama is treating diners to two limited-time promotions.

From 4 to 6 September 2025, all you have to do is to mention “I am Kimchi Mama” to enjoy 50% off the Signature Kimchi Mama Stew Pot (S$25.90), and from 18 to 20 September 2025, you can redeem the Hotstone Kimchi Beef Steak Rice (S$14.90), with the same code.

Don’t talk to me for now, I’m resting my throat to yell “I am Kimchi Mama” at the top of my lungs.
