Let’s Kinn THAI sells giant seafood mama pot & Thai lok lok from S$0.99 in Tanjong Pagar

by Christabel Tan

Not making a trip to Thailand anytime soon? That’s alright — the latest Thai spot to open in Tanjong Pagar will tide you over (for now). Let’s Kinn THAI markets itself as the first authentic Thai-style seafood mama hotpot joint in Singapore.

Hidden in a corner on the second level of Tanjong Pagar Plaza, this newly opened Thai-owned eatery may look small and unassuming, but I hear it’s got some seriously heaty and fiery fare that’ll transport you straight to +66.

Let’s KINN Thai is best known for their Seafood Mama Pots, which are available in three sizes: S, M, and L

Small eaters can go for the S Size Seafood Lover Mama Pot (S$19.90) or even the value-for-money S Size Meat lover Mama Pot (S$9.90), but go big or go home, am I right?

The hulking L size Seafood Lover Mama Pot (S$59.90 for 4-5 pax) is chock-full of mussels, prawns, crayfish, crab, squid, clams, enoki mushrooms, and roasted pork (which can be left out).

You get a bounty of fresh seafood (some deep-fried, some blanched), and Thai MAMA noodles in a tom yum mama soup, finished off with eggs and lime slices. Party in my mouth.

Lok lok is well-loved by Singaporeans, and for good reason. But Thai lok lok? That’s something you don’t see very often.

The Thai Lok Lok Platter (S$19.90) here comes with 12 skewers, all of which are deep-fried and seasoned with a special lok lok powder. Alternatively, you can opt for a la carte and choose from the likes of King Oyster Mushroom Skewer (S$0.99), Bacon with Enoki Skewer (S$1.99), and Quail Eggs Skewer (S$0.99).

If you’re not in the mood for mama, pig out on the reliable Moo Ka Ta Set (from S$29.90 for 2 pax), which comes with tons of ingredients and a la carte add-on options.

Other well-loved Thai dishes include Pad Thai (S$7.90), Thai Steam Seabass with Lemon (S$29.90), and Melting Eggs with Fried Rice (S$8.90), or fried rice with a creamy omelette. Don’t miss out on their Thai Milk Tea (S$2.50) that’s rich and not too sweet — reviews have been great so far.

I can’t wait to satisfy my tom yum cravings ASAP.
