Churro lovers, rejoice!
Singapore’s dessert scene just got an exciting new addition with the arrival of Twist & Buckle, the renowned contemporary churreria from Hong Kong. Having earned a spot in the Michelin Guide in Hong Kong in 2023 and 2024, they have finally made their international debut at Velocity.
Twist & Buckle is all about reimagining the classic churro with creative flavours and indulgent pairings.
Glazed Churros (S$6.90 for regular, S$7.50 for two mini) is a delightful take on the classic. There are unique signature flavours like Pistachio Crunch, Crunchy Matcha, Hazel Lah, Marshmallow, Wonderland, and more.
Or, if you’re feeling adventurous, the Spring Blossom is a must-try. Orh nee, dark chocolate, and pearl sugar just sound like a sinful combination.
But why settle for churros when you can have both churros and ice cream?
Sundae Specials (S$7.90) is a decadent pairing of warm, glazed mini churros with creamy vanilla milk soft serve. The popular S’Mores Sundae, for instance, comes topped with toasted marshmallows, Tim Tam biscuits, and a generous drizzle of chocolate sauce.
Other choices include Birthday Cake, Cookie Monster, Cookies and Cream, Matcha Twirl, and Movie Night.
Or, you can also build your own soft serve by topping up S$2.90. Doesn’t this sound so indulgent?
Sometimes simple is the best. If you love a classic churro, go for the El Churro Original.
The freshly made churros are dusted with cinnamon sugar. Add on a dollar to choose your choice of dip from chocolate, hazelnut, or dulce de leche.
One churro might not be enough so why not go all in?
Opt for Combo 1 (S$19.90) which comes with five original churros, or go for Combo 2 (S$27.90) which has five glazed churros.
I will definitely be making a trip down to Novena to treat myself to these churros soon.
