Picture this: you’ve had an extra long day at work or school, and all you want to do is simply unwind over a hearty Thai mookata meal, but it’s way past dinnertime.

There’s no point keeping the late-night munchies at bay when you can head down to Geylang for your fix at Yak Kin Mookata.

Not to be confused with yakiniku joint Yak Kin, this eatery along the bustling Guillemard Road specialises in charcoal mookata and Thai hotpot.

The signature Mookata Set, which can feed two to three diners, is priced at a fairly affordable S$48 and comprises meats and vegetables like pork collar, smoked duck, prawn, and enoki mushroom.

You can also choose to add on a la carte options like beef short plate, fishball with fish roe, tiger prawns, and garlic pork collar, just to name a few.

If you’re feeling something different, the Thai Hot Pot Set (S$38) comes with a similar set of ingredients, but with the added bonus of an extra comforting broth.

Don’t forget to pair your meats with the eatery’s special Thai-style chilli and dipping sauces that are sure to pack a fiery punch!

Pair your mookata or hotpot with a selection of grilled seafood, including the likes Giant River Prawn (from S$20 per piece), Gong Gong (S$12), or Half Shelled Cockles (S$18). You can even the iconic Crab Omelette (S$16) popularised by Michelin-starred Bangkok street food joint Jay Fai.

But if you’re craving nothing more than the usual Thai staples like Moo Ping (from S$6), Stir Fried Thai Basil Minced Pork or Chicken Rice (S$6), and Thai Tomyam (from S$12), Yak Kin Mookata has it all.

The eatery is also having a Fresh Oyster Promotion — you can enjoy juicy and luscious medium-sized Japanese Oysters (U.P. S$4) at just S$1.99 per piece with any purchase of a set menu.

Top ’em with fried shallots and lime, and you’re in for a tasty treat!

The best part? You can feast on mookata till the wee hours of the night, as the eatery closes at 5am daily — just in time to catch the first train home.
